Re-potting mandrakes. This was seriously an OWL practical exam? They did this in second year. Though all the same, Emily was nervous. The plants freaked her out. She secured her earmuffs before grasping it firmly and pulling out the baby-like plant. Its mouth moved in screaming, but Emily was unable to hear it. She had gotten a particularly fat one, so putting it into the next pot was a bit tiresome, but she did it eventually. When Emily removed her earmuffs, she could hear a muffled screaming. All of a sudden, she collapsed.

When she woke, the substitute nurse in the hospital wing said that examiner had told her that she had not put enough soil in the pot and had fainted because of it. Well, that was going to take a toll on her grade...

Zelphar had seen two examiners carrying Emily out of the room and he immediately stood, wanting to know what was wrong with his friend. Instantly, a supervisor swooped down on him, assured him that Emily would be fine, then warned him that his test would be void if he stood up again. Fairly angered, Zelphar sat back down and continued on with his test, the nagging feeling that he should be doing something for Emily never really leaving his mind.

In the meantime, Blaize was coming back from his practical, and had only seen the doors close, not Emily being carried out. He sat back down to his written half, mind drawing a blank. Blaize ran a hand through his hair. It had been a really long day of exams. He couldn't wait to go to bed. And the fact that teachers didn't give homework during exams made the idea all the more possible.
